Art Media & Styles

Digital Art

I create digital art with Krita and Clip Studio Paint. Digital work allows me to create very smooth surfaces and include lots and lots of detail.

Lineart & Ink Art

Linearts are my favorite to draw. I paint them with black china ink because I love the organic flow of the painted ink!

Acrylic Art

Recently, I have tried to paint more in the traditional way with acrylic paint. I love to experiment with different ways to apply the paint to canvas.

Copic/Mixed Media

Although markers are not my favorite medium, I do sometimes use copic markers and watercolor paints to draw. They work well with my comic art style and help me experiment.

Sketches

Next to my projects, I do a lot of sketching. I believe it is important to do studies to develop my understanding of anatomy, to experiment and to quickly test ideas. Sketching is also a cool way for us artists to take notes because sometimes words do not suffice.

Horror Art Linearts & Inks

Ink is one of my favorite tools I use in my dark art. I love creating powerful lineart drawings and then painting them with black china ink. Eventually, I scan my work and edit it on the computer to create t-shirt prints from it.

The ink has a nice flow because it’s not too thick but you can still add water to make it more translucent. This way, I layer all my work from back to front or from lighter shades to darker contrasts.

I also enjoy that black china ink has a very slight color variation in the greys. This gives my original works additional interest without being too colorful.

The painting on the left shows a revenant necromancer. She is raising the dead like marionettes in a dark forest with all kinds of creatures lurking in the trees and the darkness.

It was first drawn with a pencil, then I drew the lineart and painted it in black china ink. Lastly, I edited it by adding some contrast and removing some of the saturation. It looks great on the shirts in my shops and as a print on your wall! Check out my shop on Etsy to buy my work.
